How to distinguish the number of layers of single-sided and double-sided circuit boards in Jiangmen

Jiangmen single and double-sided circuit boards can be classified into three major categories based on the number of layers: single panel, double-sided board, and multi-layer circuit board.

Firstly, it is a single panel. On the most basic PCB, parts are gathered on one side, while wires are gathered on the other side. Due to the fact that wires only appear on one side, this type of PCB is called a single-sided circuit board. Single panel manufacturing is usually simple and cost-effective, but its drawback is that it cannot be applied to products that are too messy.

Double panel is an extension of single panel. When single-layer wiring cannot meet the needs of electronic products, double-sided panels are used. Both sides are covered with copper and have routing, and can be connected through vias to form the required network connection between the two layers.

Multilayer board refers to a printed circuit board with three or more layers of conductive patterns and insulating materials sandwiched between them, and the conductive patterns are interconnected as required. Products that are developing towards high speed, multifunctionality, large capacity, small size, thinness, and lightweight with multiple information technologies.

How to distinguish between multi-layer circuit boards and single-layer circuit boards

1. When held up and illuminated by a light, the inner core is opaque, meaning it is a completely black sheet, which is a multi-layer board. Conversely, it is a single-sided or double-sided board. For a single panel, as long as there is one layer of wiring, there is no copper inside the holes. A double-sided board has circuits on both sides, with copper inside the conductive holes.

2. The fundamental difference is the number of layers in the circuit:

Single layer circuit board only requires one layer of circuit (copper layer), all holes are non-metallic holes, and there is no electroplating process

A double-layer circuit board has two layers of circuits (copper layer), with metalized and non-metal holes, and a plating process

3. Circuit boards are divided into single-sided circuit boards, double-sided circuit boards, and multi-layer circuit boards. Multilayer circuit boards refer to circuit boards with three or more layers. In the manufacturing process of multi-layer circuit boards, an inner layer pressing manufacturing process is added on the basis of single-sided and double-sided boards, which can also be analyzed using slicing techniques.
