The circuit board manufacturer informs you why you cannot touch the circuit board with your hands?

Hello, today the circuit board manufacturer is here to talk to us about why we cannot touch the circuit board with our hands. Let's learn together.

Winter has arrived, and the human body can release up to tens of thousands of volts of static electricity. The year-end project is also in its final stage, so we must not let our hands with static electricity directly contact the charged motherboard and cause it to burn out!

It is common knowledge among electronic engineers that human hands should not directly touch or come into contact with circuit boards. Why is this?

The hazards of static electricity:

In different environments, the static voltage carried by the human body ranges from a few volts to several tens of thousands of volts. Hand contact with electronic components (conductors) can generate electrostatic discharge, causing damage to the components and reducing reliability; In severe cases, electrostatic discharge can cause device breakdown, resulting in the direct scrapping of the product.

In addition, the process of electrostatic discharge radiates radio waves at a certain frequency, disturbing the surrounding microprocessors and causing application program operation disorder, seriously affecting the normal operation of the equipment.

Therefore, standard operations are required in daily production and work (including correctly wearing electrostatic rings); Try to prevent direct contact between human hands and electronic components, especially when they are live.

Hand contact (introducing disturbances such as human equivalent resistance) changes the characteristics of the feedback loop (including pole shift), causing feedback loop oscillation and resulting in unstable DC-DC output voltage.

The output voltage of DC-DC is unstable, which can lead to system restart in mild cases (DC-DC actively lowers the output voltage), and in severe cases, it can burn out the main chip of the circuit board (DC-DC actively raises the output voltage), thus preventing contact when the motherboard is live.
